What does 6x6 mean for elk?
A 6x6 bull has 6 points per side (including the main beam tip). This counts brow, bez, trez, sword, fifth point, and beam tip. A 7x7 bull adds a royal point.
What's a trophy bull elk score?
A 300+ inch bull is respectable. 330+ is trophy-class. 360+ makes Boone & Crockett awards. 375+ enters the all-time records. The world record is 442+ inches typical.
How do Roosevelt elk differ from Rocky Mountain elk in scoring?
Roosevelt elk have their own category with lower minimums (275 typical vs 375 for Rocky Mountain). They tend to have heavier, darker antlers but shorter tines.
